Terms of Service

PeterPigeon is operated by Fris B.V., KvK 64486710, based in the Netherlands. By using PeterPigeon, you agree to these terms.

1. What PeterPigeon is

PeterPigeon is an AI triage layer on top of your email. You connect your Gmail account, we sync your emails, classify them using AI, and draft replies. You decide what gets sent, kept, or ignored.

2. Your account

• You need a Gmail account to use PeterPigeon.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use PeterPigeon. If you are under 16, you need consent from a parent or guardian.
• You are responsible for keeping your account and Google credentials secure.
• You may not use PeterPigeon for illegal purposes or in ways that disrupt the service.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.

3. AI-generated content

PeterPigeon uses Claude (Anthropic) to classify emails and draft replies. About this AI content:

• Drafts are suggestions, not final messages. You are responsible for reviewing and approving everything before it is sent.
• AI classification (act, watch, feed, archive) is a best-effort assessment. Important emails may be misclassified.
• Do not rely solely on PeterPigeon for time-critical or legally sensitive communications.
• We are not liable for the content of AI-generated drafts that you choose to send.

4. Sending email

When you click "Send", the message is sent through the Gmail API under your account. It appears as sent by you, not by PeterPigeon. You are responsible for the content of messages you send.

5. Gmail access

• PeterPigeon requests gmail.modify and gmail.send permissions. This allows us to read emails, modify labels, archive, and send on your behalf.
• We only use these permissions to provide the features you see in the app.
• You can revoke access at any time from your Google account settings.

6. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

You can optionally add your own Anthropic API key. If you do:

• AI processing is governed by your own Anthropic agreement and costs.
• We store your key encrypted and use it solely to process your emails.
• We are not responsible for charges you incur on your own Anthropic account.

7. Availability

We aim to keep PeterPigeon available but do not guarantee specific uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for damages resulting from downtime.

8. Your data

See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, and protect your data. In summary:

• Your data is stored within the EU.
• You can delete your account and all data at any time from Settings.
• We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

9. Intellectual property

• PeterPigeon, including the software, design, and branding, is owned by Fris B.V.
• Your emails and data remain yours. We claim no ownership over your content.
• You grant us a limited licence to process your email content solely for the purpose of providing the service.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• PeterPigeon is provided "as is" without warranties.
• We are not liable for indirect damages, consequential damages, lost profits, or data loss.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

• You can stop using PeterPigeon at any time by deleting your account.
• We may terminate your account for violation of these terms, with reasonable notice unless the violation requires immediate action.
• On termination, your data is deleted within 72 hours.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
